§ 2-3-21. Creation; appointment; term; vacancy; salaries.

  • An historical commission is hereby created for the city, and the commission shall consist of a chairman and not less than six (6) nor more than 16 other persons who shall be appointed by resolution by the city council of the city and the city council shall designate the terms of years for which each member of the commission shall serve and their successors shall be appointed by the city council to serve for such terms as shall be determined in such resolution. In case of a vacancy in any of the terms of the members of the commission, the persons appointed to fill vacancies shall be appointed only for the unexpired term. They shall serve without salary.
